All I knew about this family, besides that they are totally adorable, was one obvious thread that ran through the family. Skating. When we were trying to figure out what to do for their session, I knew it had to be something fun that represented them. Simple is the key. No reason to construct something that doesn’t make sense for. We just needed to play, bring skateboards and photograph life as it happened. The two big girls and dad, have their own skateboard and there are extra skates to go around. The little ones play. Casual is the key and fun is the goal for these types of sessions. The kids got to skate and play and the parents get to enjoy their family. The kids wore their favorite clothes and socks (of course www.Stance.com you know we all love them).
Unfortunately, this was a short session, I wish I was able to hang with them for the day! These images are only part of the story, but they speak for themselves. I love the personality and connection they show.
I’m stoked I was able to jump in to this families life for the afternoon. What a rad way to live. Thanks for spending your Thursday with me!
This was a fun little family portrait session in honor of the little one turning one (almost.) It had been a while since I’ve seen this sweet famiy and they managed to go from a family of three to four since I photographed them last. I loved going down to the Silver Strands for our session, giving me a chance to check out some new territory and some fresh inspiration. The shots I love best are all the cuddly moments, the kisses, the hugs and the embraces, because that’s what family is all about. Little ones don’t fit in your arms for long, so enjoy your families and keep them close!
If you’d like to book a photography portrait session for your family give me a call or drop me a line in email. Till then!
Congratulations to my Alma Mater High School, San Dieguito Academy, for shining at the state Thespian Festival in March!
I was pleased to meet Will, one of the kids to successfully audition for the festival’s All State Show, when he came in for updated headshots at my studio a few months back. The Thespian Troupe is one of the largest clubs on SDA’s campus these days! Will was fun and engaging to photograph, I can’t believe I haven’t seen one of his shows yet.
Coming soon to SDA’s Performing Arts Theater is “Mary Poppins”. I’ll have to get over there soon for a show…it’s always fun going back to high school.
If you need a new headshot or professional portrait in studio or environmental, let me know, I’d love to help!
